Third story in a row I'm switching from a first person POV to a third person POV. I'm pretty sure this is the right choice, but yeesh, I wish I'd figured it out earlier this month.

Christmas is almost upon us and I still have a short story to finish writing: "Sammy's Girl," for the Biblical horror anthology I mentioned back here.  Technically, the deadline for the story is December 31, but I'd really like to get it finished before then. Woo-hoo!!! Finished a decent draft of "Life-Debt." I'm gonna let it sit for a little while so it can ferment a bit, then have another go at it.  I'm not 100% happy with it, but it's done and I feel like I've got a good handle on it.  It's definitely space opera, not quite as new weird as I originally thought it might be, and much more of a cowboy ( Read more... )
